Diary 2009 Project

This is my entry for the 2009 Diary Project. I like it, it's cute and simple. I had a hard time holding back from filling every space on the page! :) I love doodling!!

Anyway, after tomorrow I will be on vacation for two weeks. I may blog pics of where I am but I doubt I will do any crafty stuff. Be back soon!

Monster This and Monster That

These are two of my newest little plushies. I love them both. I especially love Monster That because of his colors. Did you know that Monster That's fin really came from my Pegleg Pearl plush? Yes in another life Pearl was a Mer. I cursed several thousand times trying to make Pearl a Mer, but ya know things really do happen for a reason. I got a little pegleg gal and a little monster that I adore....I don't know if I would have thought up a fin for him otherwise. :)

Yard Sale Joy

Oh! I forgot that I got this at a yard sale last week! I was SOOOOOOOOO excited when I saw this! I had to buy it because this was the kinda book I checked out of the library obsessively when I was 8 and 9....:D
Those old school monster flicks... brilliant.

Fraulein

Fraulein's favorite words are 'tiptoe', 'boo' and 'dust'. She hardly eats anything except saltines and can usually be found at the end of the crumb trail.

I just recently sold Matilde, who is my only beady eyed monst (that's what we call monsters in my house , just MONST) Anyway, I am already missing Matilde who was one of my favorites... so I decided to make another beady eyed doll and I came up with a little sketch and I started and finished it tonight. I have a "intheworks"pic but no finished pic because my batteries are dead and gone. This doll is cute but came out looking goth which wasn't my intention. I love her beady eyes but she is a little too "polished" for me, I like my monsters junkier, :) But I will show you the little fraulein tomorrow....

Alice Monster

The newest girl in JunkerTown, haha.
Alice likes to chase butterflies and is never caught without her signature bow.

Fanciful Twist

I dunno if any of you know of Fanciful Twist yet but you really should go and have a look. This next week she is having a party :) Maybe I will be able to participate, I really can never say with my crazy kid schedule.... Still, it should prove some amazing eye candy! http://afancifultwist.typepad.com/a_fanciful_twist/

Bettina

Bettina has always been a library cat. Bettina aches to travel, especially to Rome.

Bettina is made from recycled fabrics and buttons.

Happy Friday

This is one of my little muses.

Lazy days sorta

Well no day can be too lazy when you have kids, but we have had family visiting and have been out and about. I am working on a new pillow. They are my Happy Pillows, I am calling them that because they are so colorful and have smiley faces. Just what everyone needs to see first thing every morning! :)

ETSY UPDATE!

I just put some new stuff up on ETSY. :) Lots od colorful and fun stuff. Take a look...I'll update Flickr later....it is noon and I still haven't dressed OMG! Well read about last night...

Kids

Okay tonight (er today) I went to bed at 3:00 am...one of the kids wakes up at 3:30...it is 4:08 now and I am in blogland....oh boy I am going to be hating life tomorrow...er...today. Then the other one wakes up and can't go back to sleep, then they get hungry....

Here is that green chair I bought at a yardsale. The seat is messed up but it was my plan to make a seat cover and hide the mess, except now I notice that the sat really isn't secure at all....hmmm, either make a chair planter out of it (which I hate to do because the chair is rock solid besides the seat) OR have a piece of plywood cut to fit for a new seat. Either way it was a buck! I could not pass it up even though my husband gave me that look, hahaha.

The reason I was up so late is because I have 3 plushies and a pillow finished! Yay for me. So hopefully all goes well with moods tomorrow, er today so I can get them posted on ETSY and Flickr and here :)

Summertime

Well finally, it's beginning to feel like summer here! yay. Yesterday we went to a couple of yard sales and I got some fabric and a chair. I will post pics tomorrow of my stuff. The chair is really cute and green. I made this Summer Kitty today. Later when the kids go to sleep I will try to finish up some projects that have around a while. I haven't been feeling like I've accomplished much lately.

Last year the kids and I painted some pots and with the leftover paint we painted sticks.

Alexandra Monster

Alexandra tends to like winter and the fog it brings. Her maryjanes are usually smudged with mud because she is fond of hiding in hedges. She is quite often caught reading by candlelight despite the danger.

Alexandra is my second ragdoll.

eat sleep, ragdolls

I am on this ragdoll kick now. I think I am going to make a really raggy (not so much stuffing because I like them limpy) one for me and a really cute pink one for one of my littles because she is girly. My older girl isn't into anything indie, which is too bad. It's because I didn't raise her that way, I wasn't creating all the while she was little and now I regret it. Oh well.

I'm posting a couple of photos of two of my creations that live here. Both bunnies, the darker green one is wonky but so soft and has the sweetest face. The olive one looks so fun with all of her different patterns and textures.

Monster Beatrice

Beatrice likes a proper tea, beatles under rocks, and the view from her cherry tree. Like any monster girl Beatrice likes black licorice.

Beatrice is what I am going to call the official JunkerJane Ragdoll. The Official ragdoll being 'monster', of course. Expect to see many of Beatrice's relatives soon.

Beatrice is made partly new fabric. I had bought some new fabric months ago before deciding to go full recycle. Hmm, I can see this being a problem with my rag dolls, maybe...I think I maybe I will have a new fabric section. It's really hard when you are inspired by many things to limit yourself, ya know. On the other hand claiming to be completely recycled is something. Not just because it's a good thing but because it's a challenge. Either way I will always list whether or not new or recycled fabric is used.

Whoa Nellie!

This is what I came up with... I had to change the nose because it didn't look right, but I will try that type of nose next time a different way.
Nellie is accident prone and really needs to be adopted by someone with a watchful eye....

Rag Doll

I am working on a JunkerJane ragdoll. There are several out there, wonderful designs. So all of a sudden one of my sketches is inspiring me to create my own.... We shall see...

New Monster

I came home and whipped this guy up. You should still see the kitchen table...messy! I could never be on that infamous Flickr "Corners of my Home" haha, at least not yet.

This is Oscar and we both love trees equally. Trees rock!

Oscar is the first plushie that I put my name label on. So whoever buys it may be getting a collectors item! hahaha... I use recycled fabric and quirky ways for my label, too. I use a thrifted sheet to write my name on. I use a fade-proof/ water-proof ink pen that really works, I've tried scrubbing it off. On a sample piece of course... and I am posting a sketch that inspired Oscar.

Oh, the kids are almost in bed and I swear I feel guilty for not wanting to sew up something else instead of plopping down in front of the TV hoping to catch a good chick flick...I mean I want to sew but I also want to escape into some historical fantasy....whilst sipping an ale....whilst, hehe, that word is funny and wonderful both....

alright have a good night all

Back from the dead

Hello! Here are two WIP Pillows I am working on. I really had fun sewing these, or I am having fun. It's kinda therapy for me to do crazy patchwork.

I also made this bag. It's fun, too. It is really sturdy but a little wonky around the sewn top. I feel I need to say that in case someone buys it, I don't want there to be any surprises.

This weather in Oregon is crazy! It's cold, windy, gray and rainy. It feels like winter still. I hope this isn't a short summer....gah.

School gets out next week for my daughter. That means I will need to do more entertaining, but also that i get to stay up really late sewing stuff and getting dark circles under the eyes, haha.

Recovering from myself

For a whole week I was in a slump. No inspiration, frustration, etc. It was the pits, plus I am out of cam batteries again. But I made a bag today and I am finishing a pillow. Pics to come.

Long week

It was a long week, tiring, too.
I will have more crafty crap to post later, but for now all I have are my roses. I love these little roses. I used to have some just like it growing up. They bring back good memories. I won't usually post things that don't pertain to something crafty, but sometimes I just need to look elsewhere for inspiration and a chance to catch my breath and refuel, ya know??
